“Hey, do you mind coaching the kid’s team this year? We are SOOO desperate. Sorry about the late notice but we think you are going to be great!”
How many of you have been tapped on the shoulder and asked the same question?
Rookie Mentor is a website aimed at youth sport coaches who have either been thrown into the position or have voluntarily signed up as a youth sports coach.
We are and have been youth sport coaches for most of our adult lives and we recognize it’s more complex than meets the eye.
Juggling passionate parents, officials and multiple kids with varying abilities both at practice and on game day is an imperfect science.
Our primary aims at Rookie Mentor are to:
- Give confidence to new youth sport coaches
- Educate youth sport coaches on ways to keep youth sports fun while also teaching healthy competitiveness
- Assist youth sport coaches on how to manage passionate parents to create an enjoyable environment for kids to flourish
Thanks for stopping by our website.
We hope our blog and the information you find on this site gives you the confidence and courage to stand tall amongst the group of energetic 6-year-olds who’ve had way too much sugar before practice.
